Meet Verneashia Allen of Spoiled Rotten Beauty Bar in Pearland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Verneashia Allen.

Verneashia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I founded Spoiled Rotten Beauty Bar Oct.2014 but didn’t open doors for business until Jan. 1st, 2015. Spoiled Rotten Beauty Bar has always been a dream of mines since age 14. That’s when I began to do hair for family & friends. I knew early on that I wanted to work for myself & own my very own salon. I then went on to take cosmetology in high school and the rest is history. Being a native of Galveston, TX, which is a very small town, I became a single mother of 2 by the age of 23. I knew I had to do something better with my life which prompted my move to Houston and the pursuit of my cosmetology career. Moving away meant leaving a pretty large clientele, but it also meant a fresh start in a bigger city with more clients to gain. After a few bumps in the road, I finally found stability here in Pearland TX. I began to create a name for myself in the hair industry in this area. I worked in 2 unisex salons in Pearland after I had been in a suite in the Houston area. Then God blessed me the opportunity to find a store front for lease. With a lot of hard work and dedication I was able to bring Spoiled Rotten Beauty Bar to life. I wanted to create a professional clean atmosphere where women can get pampered and serviced in hair, makeup and eyelash extensions. We also sale high end virgin hair in store & online www.spoiledrottenluxurylocks.com so clients rarely have to go anywhere else for their beauty needs. We are the only one stop shop in the Pearland area. I’ve also had an app created that can be downloaded from the App or Google play stores. The app allows clients to easily see availability & book appts with one of our awesome #Spoiled Dolls. Now being a mother of 3 & entrepreneur, my goal is to franchise and bring Spoiled Rotten Beauty Bar to a city near you where everyone can have the luxury beauty experience and be #Spoiled!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a business owner hasn’t been an easy task. I’ve never been to school for business and I knew absolutely nothing about running a business. So I had to learn everything as I went along. I made lots of mistakes, but I also learned so much in the process. And honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing; except not doing it earlier. However, I am a firm believer that everything is done in Gods perfect time, and I am beyond grateful for what he has given me.

Please tell us about Spoiled Rotten Beauty Bar.
Spoiled Rotten Beauty Bar caters to women in all aspects of beauty. We provide services such as hair styling, hair extensions, and makeup applications. I have also recently added lash extensions to our list of services as well. We are most known for our virgin hair, sew ins, and also our famous silk press blowouts that our natural clients love. I am most proud of our reviews. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service because we aim to please. Our clients absolutely love us & we definitely appreciate them. We take nothing for granted and know that these women could spend their money anywhere they please. Because they decide to patronize my businesses we show our appreciation by offering discounts and specials periodically. What also sets us apart is our desire to give back. In 2017, I offered a Spring Teen Empowerment Camp for young girls age 13-18. The camp was to teach the girls basic hair care, make up tips and hygiene. We also had in depth conversations about the girls struggles with self-esteem, bullying, the consequences of underaged sex and so much more. It was an amazing success and we built amazing bonds with the girls that attended the camp. We decided to establish a non-profit organization that would afford us the opportunity to continue these camps as well as many other amazing things for these young girls. We wanted to be an amazing support system for them to help keep them from making a lot of the same mistakes that we all have made. Which is why we named the organization G.L.O.W.; Growing Learning Overcoming Winning. We plan to grow G.L.O.W even more offering college tours & monthly meetings & outings while making sure all girls maintain good grades & a ladylike character. Theglowup.org will provide updates on all of our upcoming events, registration and volunteer sign up.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from my childhood was watching my mother’s living room fill up with clients waiting on me to do their hair. Those were happy and memorable moments. I love making women feel good about themselves.

My cousin, Zelisha is your sister-in-law. I know your mother who is a strong woman. I graduated with your Aunt, Annette another strong woman. Your Grandmother is also a strong woman, so it doesn’t surprise me one bit that you are as successful as you are because you are from good stock with a strong foundation.

One thing I noticed in reading your story is that you have applied things that you were taught early on in life along with wisdom that attributes to your successful business. I pray you have continued success in life. Keep pushing young lady and never accept the word no.
