Today we’d like to introduce you to Vetty.
Hi Vetty, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It actually all started with dancing, and competitive sports. My mother had me enrolled in everything! Competitive always. In my younger life, things were very difficult, lack of stability was a very big thing, so I feel like I did miss out on certain activities and things other kids got to experience with some degree of ease. As I got older and the more I had to be moved around, I wasn’t able to keep up with things that required my dedication. It really took a bad break up (lol) and several haters (and lots of shadow work and self-love) to see I had potential in all the things I had put aside, I flow and work in multi mediums. I don’t want to be labeled; I just make art accordingly.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth?! I’m smooth, kid, but the road here was NOT. I’m still going, still paving the way for something bigger. All the S*** that has led me here, I truly believe, needed to happen. For me, every time I accomplish something, it’s always towards my bigger picture, of living in a big art piece of my creation. Life was so ugly for such a long time I deserve to mold it with care and love, I approach everything this way now. It has to be approached with a purpose for me, anything I do friendships, partnerships, collaborations, and work. I never want to go back to all the hurt and suffering I’ve endured, I’m way too grateful to be here, that I aint never going back.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an all-around creative, the 2 things I am most known for are my paintings and tattooing. It’s very exciting to get requests because I truly love creating special work for individuals. However, it’s not limited to just these things, I am involved in film, fashion design, modeling, and other projects that I’m passionate about. I make money doing things I love with others who love what they do too. What’s a better job than that? I encourage everyone to find what they love and go for it.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Honestly, being that art is endless and the amount of people who make it is endless, it’s safe to say we will always have a need for art. As we grow, it develops, as we grow it changes. The need for expression will always be there, it’s a basic human need to communicate with one another. As far as trends and changes, I’d have to pay more attention. I’m just vibing over here.
