So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
R A E Artistry has been a dream of mine since I was 16 years old! After graduating Cosmetology school and working in the industry while gaining experience the last three years, I decided to take a leap of faith and R A E Artistry finally came to fruition!
Reputation is everything and while we have powerful tools such as social media at our advantage, I also believe word to mouth is something people will never stop relying on. I love getting to meet and work with clients. It makes my day when I’ve received a inquire from someone who was recommended to me. It’s a reminder that my passion shows with each stroke of my brush, or curl of my iron!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing worth having comes easy!
I have had to know my worth in a competitive industry. I was put in a situation where it was now or never and I decided to bet on myself!
Please tell us about R A E Artistry.
Stands for Rare and Exquisite Artistry. It is the experience I thrive to give each client when they are sitting in my chair. It is also personalized being that “Rae” is my middle name!
I am a hair and makeup Artist. Most weekends, I am getting a wedding party ready! However, it does not stop there. I work with photographers for boudoir shoots, pageant contestants, and special events.
I believe we are known for making the client’s vision come to reality. I am able to perform any style and look desired. I pride myself on being able to do both soft & natural or Glam & voluminous!
I believe what sets R A E apart from others, is my ability to connect with my clients. People are my passion and there is not feeling in the world that compares to being with someone on one of the most important days of their life. To help them feel physically beautiful to walk down the isle to their future, have confidence in front of a camera or feel sexy in their own skin is what I live for!

Absolutely!
It takes a village.
Not long before I decided to take this leap of faith, my husband and I found out we will be expecting our first child. I would be lying if I said taking on two new chapters at once didn’t make me nervous. However, I was never alone. Which brings me to my #1 supporter.
My husband.
He instantly let me know I could do this, how talented I was and encouraged me to pursue my dream! Having owned a business himself, he jumped on the business side of things and guided me on each move I should be making, where I should invest and most importantly was there to catch me in the moments of fear. He still is the one who helps me make schedules, Go over contracts and now being almost nine months pregnant with our son he spends his weekends driving me to my location and unloading all of my supplies! I am blessed beyond measure.
My family,
It would be impossible to be where I am had my parents not invested in my education and help me build my makeup & hair kit that I am very proud of! When I started this journey they were there and have never left my side. Whether they are handing out my cards or sharing my work on social media. The fact I can say with confidence that I make them proud is such a good feeling!

Funny enough Misty got me ready for one of my proms in high school. She was starting out in the industry and owning my own hair & makeup company was purely a dream in my 17 years old mind. She would go on to build an empire and become one of the most known and most successful Makeup Artist in Houston. As I entered the industry, we quickly reconnected. She even got me ready for my wedding! She has help mold me, train me and is one of the sweetest caring people I know. She has been a HUGE encourager in my corner and always pushes me to know my worth!
