Meet Vondaria Vincent

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Vondaria Vincent. Vondaria was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Demetrius Rogers.

Vondaria, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a Houston native, I have been introduced to many different cultures and ethics throughout my life. As the youngest and only girl, I was taught to embrace my beauty and flaws and never let another person’s opinion define who you are. As women, we often go through struggles that we have overcome and those struggles shape us into the strong individuals we are today.

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
After graduating high school I went on to pursue my associate’s degree in Business Administration from San Jacinto College. The journey wasn’t easy because I endured some life obstacles that made me want to give up. During that time I started a job where I was working in early childhood education. Nurturing children has always been a passion of mine because you witness the significant impact you have on the younger generation. After completing my associate’s, I later enrolled at the University of Houston-Downtown where I completed my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in December of 2022. Although I had my worries about juggling school, work, and life in general I continued to complete one of many major goals I set for myself in life. Here in 2024, I still work in early childhood education and started my own nanny/babysitting services.

Demetrius Rogers and Asili Creations have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Demetrius Rogers and Asili Creations and your experience with them.
In 2015, I decided to stop perming my hair because my growth was stuck at my shoulders. For three years, I used many different products to see what suited me best. A close friend of mine suggested Asili Creations, she told me the products were organic and smelled like mangos so I decided to give it a try. The very first time using the mango butter leave-in conditioner, I fell in love with the smell, the amount of slip, and the moisture lock-in. My first review was “Don’t change anything about the formula, it’s amazing!” As the business began to expand more products were offered and I wouldn’t hesitate to support them. Demetrius’s customer service then and now is outstanding, she’s very interactive, attentive, and always makes sure you are satisfied as a customer/tribe member. What I admire most about Demetrius is her ability to formulate products that can be used for any age group, gender, or hair type. As a woman of color, it’s a challenge to find self-care products that won’t cause harm to your health. My hair has flourished because of her time and dedication to making women feel beautiful. I appreciate and am proud of everything she has accomplished thus far.
