Vorise, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my business over four years ago, part time with just myself and a good friend. I remember borrowing my Dads truck every day after working a full-time job to mow the lawns of my very few clients at the time. I never thought I had it in me to pursue my own business full time. After being laid off from my full-time job, I thought to myself “This is it” now is your time. Having built my company from the ground up, I did a great deal of research on how to run my business.
With the help of my father who kindly gave me his truck I got out and started up what is now a successful landscaping business. Running a business takes a lot of time and I have learned that there comes a point when you need to trust those you work with. That’s why I’ve devoted most of my time training my staff so that I can make more time with family. With over 80 clients and five employees, I am well on my way to becoming the successful entrepreneur I’ve always dreamed of.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has its days. Every day is different in the landscape business. The road to get to where I’m now has been rather bumpy. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
