Meet William Sung of Grand Mission Dentistry in Richmond

Today we’d like to introduce you to William Sung.

Thanks for sharing your story with us William. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up both of my parents worked in healthcare, mom was a nurse and dad a dentist so I’ve always had interest in helping people and decided to follow in my father’s footsteps. I met my wife in dental school and after working in Massachusetts for several years, decided to move back to her hometown. I’ve always been fascinating with all the technology in dentistry and am constantly taking classes to learn and improve upon my skills and offer more services.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
yes

Please tell us about Grand Mission Dentistry.
We are general dental office treating toddlers to seniors! My wife loves kids, so much in fact she went back to school for specialty training in kids dentistry after working for several years and she’ll be joining our office summer of 2018. We try to offer a variety procedures ranging from basic fillings and cleanings, to more thorough treatments such as smile makeovers and treatment of TMJ disorders.

I feel that the staff are really what make this practice special. They are always full of positive energy and eager to ensure people have a very comforting experience. I’d like to think we have one of the nicest dental “families” in the state! Our office utilizes some of the latest technologies available combined with an old fashioned tradition of gentle, friendly, comfortable dentistry.

We believe in giving patients a comprehensive look at their oral health. Here, it’s about much more than just treating a tooth – it’s about informing our patients how their medical history, diet and habits have an overall effect on their dental health and vice versa. We also understand that dentistry can be expensive so we also offer up to 5 year warranty on many dental procedures to give a peace of mind.

We are always looking at ways to give back, one partnership we’ve made is with a local non-profit called Parks Youth Ranch, where we give half of all of our new patient exams to their group.
