Thanks for sharing your story with us Yvette. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Before launching Pop Up Wedding Houston, I spent ten years learning the big picture of the event industry. My experience began at Two Be Wed, one of the leading wedding planning companies in Houston. Gleaning and having Two Be Wed as my backbone in the industry allowed me to meet and work for other highly sought after venues, and catering companies. Roping in this experience has given me the ability to understand in an uncommonly unique hands-on way all aspects of an event.

The foundation of a Pop Up Wedding began about 4 years in Australia, however their concept of a Pop Up is more like an elopement to another island. Seeing we do not have tropical islands in Houston, I got creative and decided what we do have are amazing venues. Venue relations were my primary expertise and I based Pop Up Wedding Houston around this idea of having beautiful wedding ceremonies at these venues. The key was to offer something everyone can afford, still have it look custom styled, and make it unique to each couple.

I use my passion to provide a beautiful boutique styled event for everyone, no matter the budget or situation, to a new level with Pop Up Wedding Houston. Teaming with me will connect you with some of the most desired vendors and venues in the Houston area. These combined years of experience and connections work together to create a perfect Pop Up Wedding!

Has it been a smooth road?
No, not at all. All the clichés about starting your own business completely resound in my head. This has been a marketing quest and educational process to say the least. Marketing is everything with a new business and especially when the business is a new concept. I spend most of my time and conversations educating and describing to clients and wedding professionals what Pop Up Wedding Houston offers.

We are fortunate to live in the South, but with this geographical location brings customary obstacles. The customs of a traditional wedding reception are rooted here and have created a strong culture of all things wedding. I hope to bring another option to this strong industry that will reach a fun, unique, and out-of-the-box couples who desire to do something new.

Simple put we often act like wedding brokers. I have worked to get exceptional pricing for couples with some of the leading vendors and venues in the greater Houston Area. All of these savings are passed along to our clients. It’s a perfect scenario for both client and vendors.

Looking back at our first year in business, I am really proud of our Ceremony give-a-way at Hughes Manor. We put a marketing campaign together last minute to see if we could find amazing couples with compelling situations to receive a wedding valued at 20K. The response was impressive and the perfect couple won. The whole event, was exceptional as all vendors involved contributed their best which made for a memorable wedding.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Our city is great for a business like this. What I love most about Houston is its overwhelming diversity. There really isn’t anything like it in the country. We embrace uniqueness and diversity. As weddings progress, as our cultural mix, as the couples place more weight on saving money, being generous to give to philanthropic organizations, and focusing on shorter engagements, then the desire for a Pop Up Wedding will increase.
