Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvonne Pruneda.
Yvonne Pruneda joined Nan & Company Properties in 2015, bringing with her a wealth of business, investment and sales knowledge and experience. As a native Texan, her vast knowledge of the market is a valuable asset to the firm and its clients.
After graduating from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Yvonne began her career in the insurance industry as an agent and producer. During her 10-year tenure in insurance, she excelled in sales in the property/casualty and life/health specialties.
In 2011, Yvonne moved from insurance to real estate, by taking a role as an assistant to a real estate broker. She learned the business first-hand from seasoned professionals and eventually started serving her own clients as a realtor. In her first six months alone, she became a multi-million dollar producer, which set in motion her fast track to success.
At Nan & Co., Yvonne takes great pride in helping clients see the investment opportunity real estate presents. As a real estate investor herself, she knows how to help clients make the most of every transaction. She enjoys educating buyers, seller and lessors about residential and commercial properties, making sure to address each client’s specific needs. In addition to her real estate knowledge, Yvonne is also bilingual (English and Spanish), and she has an eye for design, which she puts to use for property rehabilitation projects.
When she’s not working to give clients her best service possible, she enjoys keeping fit through running, watching movies, dining out and spending time with her Shih Tzus Paris and Chloe.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
People ask me all the time; what does it take to be a Realtor? My answer, selfless, hard work, determination, and drive. There is absolutely no Smooth Road in this business. We not only play the role of “matchmaker” for our clients to find their perfect home, but we have to make sure that home is priced accordingly, negotiate the best terms suitable, have the ability to determine the homes condition will meet their standards, all while securing their initial investment is guarded without loss. No two transactions are ever the alike; some are easier than others, but you have to be open-minded, continue learning, and adapt to change. In a nutshell, be a problem solver and think on your feet.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Nan and Company Properties – Christie’s International Real Estate story. Tell us more about the business.
My company is set up as a split between performing traditional real estate (lease/buy/sell residential real estate), commercial real estate and investing. As in, I help Tenants lease homes, apartments or commercials spaces, as well as Buyers and Sellers who are purchasing or selling a home, land or commercial buildings. Aside from that, I am a real estate investor myself, so I have the ability to guide my clients who are interested in investing on what properties and/or areas that will have the potential upside they are seeking.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
When I decided to leave my 9-5, salary based position I took a leap of faith with one goal in mind which was, Failure is not an option. So I personally don’t associate luck with the success of my business. If you want to be successful in this field you have to wake up every morning and work hard. In the beginning, clients don’t just walk into your front door, you have to get out there, make your calls, answer your phone and let the world know what you do and prove to them how you can do it better than the other 32K Realtors in Houston. You cant sit on your couch watching tv and think you’ll hit the lotto of real estate and become a Top Producer.
