Thanks for sharing your story with us Zaid. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Tanglewood Builders was started by my father as a partner company to his main custom home building company, Blackstone Builders. He started it for me 15 years ago. When I was 16, I started out working for him sweeping the job sites and watching the contractors. I slowly moved up working with different contractors learning about different aspects of the houses. I instantly fell in love with the construction business. I love the design aspect of it. I’ve always been artistic and love painting. Designing the houses alongside my dad has really let my artistic side flourish. The past four years, I’ve made the most progress with the company. I managed some big builds on my own and now I’m working alongside with him, running Tanglewood Builders and designing my own projects. He’s taught me everything I know and it’s not only strengthened me as a builder but it has also strengthened our relationship as father and son. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Construction is never a smooth road, unfortunately. Every day is a new set of issues to deal with but it teaches you to adapt and become better at your job.

Tanglewood Builders is Houston’s premier residential construction company. We specialize in building custom homes for high-end clients that want the best of the best.
