My name is Zenni Pham, and I am the owner of Douce Mains Nails Lounge in Cypress, Texas.
My journey in the beauty industry began more than 15 years ago. Like many immigrants, I came to the United States with a dream of creating a better future for my family. Through hard work, determination, and a passion for serving others, I built my career one client at a time, eventually becoming a salon owner.
Before moving to Texas, I owned and operated successful nail salons in Chicago for many years. Those businesses taught me invaluable lessons about customer service, leadership, team building, and creating exceptional client experiences. They also gave me the confidence to take on a new challenge and start over in a completely different market.
In 2025, my family and I made the life-changing decision to leave Chicago and begin a new chapter in Texas. While many people saw a nail salon, I saw an opportunity to create something different.
I wanted to build a salon that challenged the traditional image of the nail industry. Too often, nail salons are associated with strong chemical odors, rushed services, and a one-size-fits-all experience. My vision was to create a space where luxury, wellness, and beauty could exist together.
That vision became Douce Mains Nails Lounge.
From the beginning, our goal has been to provide a cleaner, healthier, and more elevated salon experience. We focus on non-toxic and organic-inspired products whenever possible, healthier alternatives to traditional nail services, and an environment that feels calm, welcoming, and relaxing. Every detail of our salon is designed to help clients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident.
We believe beauty should never come at the expense of health. Whether it’s our focus on natural nail care, odor-free service options, or our commitment to creating a peaceful atmosphere, we are constantly looking for ways to improve the experience for our guests.
Building this business has come with challenges, sacrifices, and moments of uncertainty, but it has also been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Starting over in a new city meant rebuilding everything from the ground up. When we first opened, there were days when we welcomed only one or two clients.
As we approach our first anniversary on August 29, 2026, I am incredibly grateful that Douce Mains Nails Lounge has grown into a thriving salon with more than 600 loyal returning clients. That growth has reinforced my belief that people are looking for something more than just a nail appointment—they are looking for an experience where they feel valued, respected, and genuinely cared for.
Today, Douce Mains Nails Lounge is more than a nail salon. It is a reflection of my values, my journey, and my commitment to creating a healthier and more thoughtful beauty experience for our community.
I didn’t move to Texas to open just another nail salon. I came here to build something different—a luxury, non-toxic, organic-inspired salon where beauty, wellness, and self-care come together.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but I believe the challenges are what make the journey meaningful.
One of the biggest obstacles was making the decision to leave Chicago and start over in Texas. My family and I had already built a life and a career, but we wanted a new opportunity and a fresh start. Purchasing an existing salon and transforming it into Douce Mains Nails Lounge meant taking a significant risk, both financially and personally.
Another challenge was introducing a different vision to the nail industry. I didn’t want to create just another nail salon. My goal was to build a luxury salon focused on healthier beauty, natural nail care, and a cleaner environment. We emphasize non-toxic and organic-inspired products whenever possible and focus on creating a relaxing, wellness-centered experience for our guests. Because this approach is different from many traditional salons, it takes time to educate clients and build trust in what we do.
Like many small business owners, finding and retaining the right team has also been challenging. Skills can be taught, but finding people who genuinely care about clients and share the same commitment to quality and service is much harder. Building a strong team and a positive culture requires patience and consistency.
There have also been long hours, financial pressures, and moments of uncertainty. Running a business means wearing many hats and making difficult decisions every day. There were times when growth felt slow and when I questioned whether all the sacrifices would pay off.
However, every challenge has made me stronger. They taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying committed to my vision even when the results are not immediate.
Today, I am proud of how far we have come. Looking back, I realize that the obstacles were not roadblocks—they were stepping stones that helped shape both me and my business.
Starting over in a new city was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but it also gave me the opportunity to build exactly the kind of salon I always dreamed of creating.

Before moving to Texas, I owned and operated successful nail salons in Chicago, where I gained valuable experience in both the technical and business sides of the beauty industry.
Throughout my career, I noticed that many traditional nail salons focused primarily on speed and volume. While there is nothing wrong with efficiency, I felt there was an opportunity to create a more thoughtful experience—one that prioritized both beauty and well-being.
When my family and I decided to move from Chicago to Texas, I saw it as an opportunity to take everything I had learned over the years and build the salon I had always envisioned.
That vision became Douce Mains Nails Lounge.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I believe the nail and beauty industry will continue moving toward wellness, healthier beauty practices, and more personalized client experiences over the next 5–10 years.
Today’s clients are more informed than ever before. They care not only about how they look, but also about the products being used on their bodies and the environment of the businesses they support. As a result, I believe we will continue to see growing demand for non-toxic products, cleaner ingredients, natural nail care, and services that prioritize long-term health rather than short-term results.
I also believe the industry will continue shifting away from the traditional high-volume salon model and toward a more luxury, experience-driven approach. Clients are looking for more than just a service. They want to feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely cared for. They want an experience that allows them to relax, recharge, and invest in their overall well-being.
Another major trend will be the continued growth of services focused on natural nail health. Russian Manicures, Builder Gel, structured manicures, and treatments designed to strengthen and protect natural nails are becoming increasingly popular. Clients are realizing that beautiful nails and healthy nails should go hand in hand.
Technology and social media will continue shaping the future of the industry as well.
