Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoraya Vela.
Zoraya, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a Mexican American who came to Houston, TX from South, TX also known as The Rio Grand Valley about 14 years ago. After high school, I started my family had a baby girl and husband finished college we came to Houston for job opportunities for his new career as a Surgical Technologist. I started a position as a Sales assistant for new homes and become a New Home Sales Consultant after, being bilingual has helped me so much in all ways. I stayed home after that w my baby girl for many years until I became a Realtor® when all my kids were all in school. Being in Houston for years helped me as a realtor because I have lived all around Houston! I know many parts of our city! I have explored so many areas too! I love being a Houstonian!! I call Atascosita Home.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not always a smooth road, life throws us ups and downs. We kept our faith we may not understand at the moment but there is always a reason. We are in such a great place we have God to thank.

I have a passion for Real estate! Ever since I came to Houston I started in new homes!! Ever since then working with realtors who bring their buyers/clients I knew is what I wanted to do! I love houses!! I specialize working with First time homebuyers with lots of amazing programs not many know about to help them with down payment, I specialize in new homes because I used to be a new home salesperson I know how to negotiate for my clients!! Being bilingual sets me apart.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Playing outdoors, Driving to Colorado from south Texas for my dad’s job summers were spent in Colorado and it was such fun road trips! Lots of family activities.
