Patricia Stanley shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Patricia, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My day usually starts around 5 a.m. The first thing I do is check the marketcap for TexitCoin and catch up on my socials, just to see what’s happening in the digital space. Then it’s coffee time—always essential. Around 6 a.m., I take my 48 hour focaccia dough out of the refrigerator and turn the oven on to start baking focaccia for the day. While the bread is rising and baking, I shift gears into mom mode, prepping breakfast and getting my kids’ clothes ready for school. Those first 90 minutes are really a blend of business, creativity, and family—it sets the tone for the rest of my day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Patricia, the founder of Patricia’s Focaccia Woodforest, a cottage bakery here in Greater Houston specializing in handcrafted, organic focaccia. My signature twist is incorporating edible florals and unique designs into each loaf, turning something as simple as bread into an artistic (and delicious) experience. Beyond baking, I’m also deeply interested in digital spaces—teaching classes and connecting with a community that values both creativity and innovation.
What makes my brand special is the balance between tradition and imagination: I work with locally sourced ingredients (Shoutout H-E-B Organics!), honor slow, intentional food-making, but also infuse it with modern artistry and storytelling. Right now, I’m focused on growing both the bakery and my educational content, with the hope of inspiring others to find joy in creativity—whether that’s in the kitchen, business, or everyday life.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My mom has taught me the most about work. Growing up, I watched her approach everything with dedication, consistency, and an incredible work ethic. She showed me that work isn’t just about getting tasks done—it’s about showing up fully, taking pride in one’s efforts, and doing it with integrity. She balanced so much at once and made it look effortless, and that taught me resilience and focus. A lot of how I run my business today, from staying disciplined with early mornings to balancing family and work, comes directly from her example.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
The last time I changed my mind about something important was around how I define success. For a long time, I thought success meant constant growth—more sales, more followers, more output. But I realized that pace wasn’t sustainable and didn’t always bring fulfillment. I shifted my mindset to measure success in balance: creating quality work, nurturing my family, and having the space to enjoy what I’ve built. That change in perspective has not only made me happier but has also made my business stronger.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m deeply committed to—no matter how long it takes—is that creativity and community can transform the way we experience everyday life. Through my bakery, I want to show that something as simple as bread can be both nourishing and artistic, and that food has the power to bring people together. I’m also committed to building projects that merge tradition with innovation, whether that’s experimenting with edible floral focaccia designs or exploring digital platforms to connect and educate. For me, it’s not about quick wins—it’s about creating lasting impact, one loaf and one connection at a time.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my customers would miss the personal touch the most. Every focaccia I bake is a little piece of art—unique designs, edible florals, and the care that goes into making it special. But beyond the bread itself, I think they’d miss the connection. I love engaging with people, sharing stories, and creating something that feels both beautiful and meaningful for their tables. It’s that combination of artistry, quality, and heart that I hope they’d remember most.
