Rising Stars: Meet 10Kforapair

Today we’d like to introduce you to 10Kforapair.

Hi 10Kforapair, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Plano, TX but moved to Baton Rouge in high school. I played sports in TX but when I moved to Louisiana I stopped, I was never into school really so I just listened to music all day & watched rap interviews. I grew up on Lil Wayne but found myself slowly starting to listen to underground music like Robb Banks, Warhol.ss, & Icytwat during high school. When I graduated, I didn’t know what I really wanted to do, I knew I didn’t want to go to college but I knew I had to do something. I had some friends that used to mess around in the studio so I went with them one day. I ended up hopping on a track with my friend & found a love for making music. Ever since then, it’s been 110%.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
At first, the music I was making was stuff I wouldn’t really listen to (like). I took time to myself just to see what kind of sound I would make by myself. I still feel like I’m trying to find & perfect my sound but I’m getting there. The progress from three years ago to now is really kinda shocking to me. I wouldn’t say it’s a challenge but I push myself to drop as much quality content as possible, gotta stay consistent.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Other than music, I like making & buying clothes. I’m working on some pants I’m trying to drop in the future sometime & maybe a brand. I also like editing, I tried shooting videos at one point but it wasn’t for me. & a lot of my vids have edits by me.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Stay consistent, if you are going to the studio everyday, if you are writing everyday, you’re bound to get better. Practice makes perfect, if your not gonna put the time in someone is & that might be your chance. I’m from a place where you don’t get a second chance, I see people die everyday over stupid stuff, so it’s really like I’m just trying to get out before it’s too late yk.
