Today we’d like to introduce you to Aja Richardson.
Hi Aja, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Being the second oldest of eleven kids, I knew I had to be productive. I also learned at a young age that I was destined to be an entrepreneur and voice for the people. I reach my audience via social media where I am able to motivate and inspire lives through my daily actions. This has paved the way for me to begin a podcast dedicated to the process of growth as well as create several journals. These avenues allow me the opportunity to share my passion with others.
I am also very committed to mental health awareness. I want to encourage others, especially black women to take ownership of their mental health. To understand the importance of self-care and putting your needs above all else. While this goes against everything we are culturally, because we are born into the role of caretakers. This is the only way we can heal from the inside out and become the best version of ourselves.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The main obstacle I have encountered was learning to cope with my own mental health issues, while trying to be there for everyone else. I have very high standards for myself and don’t always give myself the grace I give others. I now practice loving myself with the same intensity that I love others, if not more. Also having limited resources have been a struggle but I believe it also helped develop my creativity.
I am most proud of my journals because I believe journaling saved my life. Just the thought that I can help someone get out of a dark place by journaling is what gives me life.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a full-time entrepreneur & content creator. I make motivational & relatable content to inspire any and everyone passing my page. I also create journals to improve your view on life and help to discover how to get the most out of life.
I am mostly proud of my ability to use my challenges to pour life into others instead of hiding and letting it take over. After learning and applying the way we as humans think, I make sure to grow my mental strength 1% everyday.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am very open to working/collaborating with other entrepreneurs and leaders of Houston. I can be contacted via email at AjaRichardson0427@gmail.com
