Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandro Betancourt
Hi Alejandro, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Went to culinary school in 2010, loved every minute of it and started work and learned, opened restaurants and met great people. The pandemic caught me in Belize managing a restaurant for great people and i had to come back to houston. Then moved to miami/bahamas and started in the private chef industry where i worked for a while until my daugther was born and i had to head back to Houston again where i call it home.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
O no never a smooth road specially in this industry, Hurricane Harvey, and the pandemic were some examples of tought times, even thought i was in miami during the pandemic and it never felt like there was one finding people during that time was really challenging.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Im a chef. Right now i am a private chef and i work for a couple in houston. My specialty is seafood but if you ask me is making people feel special thru food.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Taking risk is a hard topic, but because i took a risk i am where i am today. During the pandemic i was at a restaurant and the opportunity to work private came on, and i took the risk to go into those unexplored waters and the reward has been incredible, some times you just have to follow your gut.
