Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Martínez.
Alex, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a harpist from Venezuela, I studied classical guitar at the Barquisimeto conservatory, the city where I was born and raised.
There I met the Harp and the folk music of my country, I fell in love with it and began to study Harp.
Over time, I participated and won awards and recognitions inside and outside of my country. I kept studying and now I play many musical genres with my Harp.
I have already more than 18 years playing and traveling with my Harp to different countries showing my music.
My most recent solo album is called JOROCKPO and it’s from Classics of Rock. I won a short film festival in California with the video for the promo song.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the most difficult things was being able to play so many musical genres, I had to study a lot. Another difficulty was making myself known in different countries.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Harpist, I am a specialist and I am known for playing many musical genres with Two Harps. I am proud to make the music of my country known in other countries.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
That the most important thing is to reach the heart of those who listen to me with my Harp.
