Hi Alina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi, I’m Alina Marshevskaya, a professional portrait photographer and your guide to the world of empowered, elegant, and timeless motherhood portraiture. I received my first camera in 2009 as a gift from my husband, and like many who receive their first camera, I started photographing my family and friends.
Since 2017, I have delved deeply into professional photography and mastered my craft, exploring various genres and styles. I’ve tried my hand at almost everything—weddings, events, love stories, families, newborns, you name it—but I didn’t quite feel at home.
In 2018, I established my home studio and mastered studio lighting. Around the same time, a significant and long-awaited event occurred in my life: after three years of struggling to conceive, I finally became pregnant, and it changed everything. I have never felt more beautiful, radiant, and vulnerable all at once. The paradox of pregnancy is that it empowers every woman and makes her bold, yet simultaneously, it brings profound changes to your body and life, shaking the ground beneath your feet and challenging your confidence.
That was the moment I knew exactly which genre I wanted to focus on. I saw my mission and purpose clearly: to help new moms find their path to self-love and joy in their bodies, to elevate their confidence to the next level, and to build a beautiful family legacy.
From 2019 to 2022, I dedicated myself to education in maternity photography, learning from the best in the field and building my dream portfolio. Now, equipped with all the necessary skills, I am ready to provide exceptional service and deliver stunning photographs to my clients!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My biggest joy in life became my biggest struggle in my photography career – motherhood. It is so hard to balance between raising kids and building a sustainable business. Though my scale always tipped towards family and children, I’ve never given up on my photography journey, giving it all my free time and sleepless nights, moving forward in small steps.
It also showed me how hard it can be to be a busy mom, taking care of the kids and family, working, and finding some time for yourself. Being in this situation myself helped me design a photoshoot process with you in mind, ready to guide you every step of the way. So my biggest struggle became my best teacher!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve always been deeply passionate about family and motherhood photography, but what truly ignites my enthusiasm is providing a contemporary makeover empowering experience for expecting moms. It’s a transformative period in a woman’s life—her body changes, her mindset shifts, and her entire life is altered. Instead of feeling fearful and unseen, I aim for moms-to-be to feel empowered and truly radiant! I’ve built my entire business around this concept—empowering women through every stage of motherhood. It was the most incredible experience I’ve done to myself, but what I love the most is doing it for other women! I’m immensely proud to be a photographer—to guide you, boost your confidence, and create the most beautiful memories for you! I’m known for my minimalistic, timeless, yet sensual style, where the main focus is on you and your feelings. My proudest moment is when I see a sparkle in your eyes as you view your pictures and hear you say, ‘Is it really me?’
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
As a creative soul, you journey a long path to discover your true passion, your niche. Educate yourself, practice diligently, and remember that your work creates priceless memories in someone’s life—because imposter syndrome can be daunting. But one day, our children will search for a picture of their parents. What will they find? They will find YOUR work, the photograph YOU created—the most cherished treasure in their family.
