Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Scott.
Hi Amy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a native Houstonian and have lived in the area my entire life, from growing up in Spring, to attending the University of Houston and finally settling down to raise a family in The Woodlands. I love this city. My husband Travis and are college sweethearts and have three boys: Henry (9), Hudson (7) and Harrison (3). They keep me busy!
I started BASH The Woodlands during one of the most challenging times in my life. The world was locked down during the height of the coronavirus pandemic and I was facing the daily struggle of trying to homeschool my two older boys while juggling my toddler. All while keeping everyone quiet so my husband could work from home in peace.
All three of my boys’ birthdays went from our normal parties with family and friends to having socially distant drive-by car parades. We had to wave to grandparents and extended family through the window or on FaceTime. During this time, I needed an outlet. Something that could bring joy to others, which in turn would bring joy to me. BASH The Woodlands helped me do just that; in the midst of a pandemic, I could safely deliver smiles to birthday girls and boys all around the area and bring a little joy into their world. The concept has taken off and I now have a very loyal customer base that grows by the day. I couldn’t be more thankful- I truly love what I do!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My only challenges with starting a business have been setting boundaries and knowing my worth. I want to make a product that is accessible and affordable, and sometimes it is challenging for me to turn away business that isn’t in the area I service. I just want everyone to feel celebrated and special!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
BASH The Woodlands delivers custom, personalized party hats to yards and businesses all over the area that stand over SIX FEET tall and look amazing in photos. Unlike other yard cards that bend easily and won’t fit in photos, BASH signs are weatherproof, durable and have been deemed “the most Instagrammable birthday sign” because of how photogenic they are! I’m most proud of how happy we make our customers. Seeing their smiling, surprised faces will never get old!
Any big plans?
I’m always looking into new designs and popular concepts for our area. I’m in the business of birthdays, so collaborating with other birthday vendors is one of my plans for the future. I’m looking forward to adding a few new designs to our collection soon!
