Rising Stars: Meet Anya Carranza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anya Carranza.

Hi Anya, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I love all stories that are full of hope and inspiration, but mine is my favorite! I moved in to the US 8 years ago now, coming from Mexico. My career started when I was 3 years old, recording commercials and always in front of the cameras. Later on, I worked as a model and as a radio announcer. When I moved to the States, I thought I was going to be able to continue with my career, as a TV host and on air talent, but God had bigger plans for me.

I started cleaning houses,… and I learned so much about myself during the first 2 years, that I couldn’t hide from God anymore. I started developing my relationship with him by changing my decisions. Healthier relationships, specially the relationship with myself, my body and my mind.

By loving myself more I starting to grow, professionally this made me a make up artist, a business developer management for a company and one day I started working on my social media accounts.

My idea was always to help other women that where, like I was at some point, hopeless. And that’s what I do daily now. My Bio on my Instagram account says “Changing the world one follower at a time”.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There’s not such a thing like smooth roads. All roads are full of challenges that at the end will help you grow. The idea of being in a country that is not my home country was always hard. But I made the personal decision of making the US my country by respecting the law. Also, All the challenges that one day I thought were tough, had become life lessons for me to share and be proud about!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an influencer and on air talent in the Houston/Katy Area. I share daily products, services, brands that I use at home and with my family. By sharing all of these I save my audience money and time! People trust the products I recommend because they know how picky I am to share something. They know I’ll go through the finding-buying-trying process until I find one that it’s worthy to share.

My career seems easy, but it’s a lot of work. Although I enjoy it I have to recognize that it’s not for everyone.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is the result of the effort you make for something that it’s worthy. That’s why sometimes we get confused between money and success. After working hard, waking up early to go to work and putting all this time and effort into your job, you get a check that feels like “happiness”. But it’s the result what makes us happy, not the money. Same thing with working out. Same thing with eating healthy. Same thing with being a good person. Same thing with life!
