Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Shaneka Fairley
Originally from Mobile, Alabama, I discovered my passion for videography at a young age after moving to Atlanta. My journey in the industry led me to work with high-profile artists like 2 Chainz, T.I., and Yung Joe, as well as collaborate on major projects such as that required Media Passes. Now based in Houston, Im ready to bring my talent and vision to the vibrant creative scene, continuing the success I achieved in Atlanta
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Breaking into the world of videography, especially as a woman, came with its challenges. Early on, I had to work twice as hard to prove myself in a male-dominated industry. Building a reputation required long hours, often working on projects with little to no budget just to gain experience. Moving to Houston was another challenge starting over in a new city, building a network from scratch, and finding opportunities to showcase my skills. But every obstacle taught me resilience, and those experiences shaped the creative and determined professional I am today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a videographer, I specialize in bringing stories to life through the lens. My work ranges from music videos to event coverage, and I’m particularly passionate about capturing the energy and creativity of the entertainment industry. In Atlanta, I was fortunate to collaborate with some of the biggest names in music, like 2 Chainz and T.I., and I’ve also worked on events that brought unique visions to life.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with clients and truly understand their vision. I don’t just shoot footage I create moments that resonate and leave a lasting impact. I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built and the trust my clients have in my ability to deliver high-quality work.
Moving to Houston has been an exciting opportunity to bring my skills to a new audience while continuing to evolve as a creative. My work is all about innovation, authenticity, and telling compelling stories through video
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is creating work that resonates with people and leaves a lasting impression. I’m passionate about storytelling, and I believe every project has the power to inspire, connect, or evoke emotion. Seeing my clients’ reactions when their vision comes to life is what drives me.
Why? Because I’ve always seen videography as more than just filming it’s about preserving moments and telling stories that matter. It’s fulfilling to know that my work can be a part of someone’s journey, whether it’s helping an artist share their music or capturing the energy of a once in a lifetime event. It’s that sense of purpose and impact that keeps me motivated.
