Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Sanchez
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Monsters Ink Tattoo & Piercing Parlor started as a dream fueled by passion, creativity, and a desire to build something bigger than just a business—it’s a place where art, self-expression, and community come together. My husband and I have always had a deep love for tattoos and body art, seeing them as powerful forms of storytelling and identity.
When Monster and I started Monsters Ink, LLC, we knew we wanted it to be more than just a shop. We wanted it to be a welcoming space where clients feel comfortable, whether they’re getting their first tattoo or adding to a collection. From the beginning, we focused on high-quality work, a strong connection with our clients, and a team of talented artists who share our vision.
Getting to where we are today took dedication, late nights, and a commitment to excellence. We built our reputation through word of mouth, community involvement, and a genuine love for what we do. Now, Monsters Ink has become not just a tattoo and piercing parlor but part of something bigger—an extension of our larger brand that includes art, creativity, and giving back to the community.
Our journey is far from over, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but we never expected it to be. Starting and running a business—especially in an industry like tattooing—comes with its own set of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles was establishing ourselves in a competitive market. We had to prove that Monsters Ink wasn’t just another shop but a place known for quality, creativity, and a welcoming atmosphere.
There were also financial challenges in the beginning. Opening a shop requires a lot—finding the right location, investing in top-tier equipment, and building a team of skilled artists who align with our vision. On top of that, navigating the legal side of things, from permits to health regulations, was a learning curve.
Beyond the business side, balancing work and family has been a challenge, especially with five kids. We’ve had to juggle long hours, unexpected setbacks, and the pressure of being entrepreneurs while still making time for our family, three businesses and community projects like Cleaning Up Conroe.
But through all of it, we’ve stayed committed to our vision. Every challenge has pushed us to grow, adapt, and become stronger. The struggles have only made the success more rewarding.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Monsters Ink Tattoo & Piercing Parlor, we’re all about artistry, self-expression, and creating an unforgettable experience for our clients. We specialize in high-quality tattoos and precision piercings, offering a range of styles from bold, traditional pieces to intricate, hyper-realistic designs. Our artists each bring their own unique talents, ensuring that no matter what a client is looking for, we can bring their vision to life.
What sets us apart is our commitment to more than just great tattoos—we’ve built a space where people feel comfortable, respected, and part of a community. We prioritize cleanliness, professionalism, and a welcoming environment, making sure every client has an experience that matches the quality of our work.
I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built and the connections we’ve made. Seeing clients come back, bringing their friends and family, and trusting us with their stories through ink is incredibly rewarding. Beyond that, we’re passionate about giving back to the community, whether through local events, charity work, or our nonprofit, Cleaning Up Conroe.
At the end of the day, Monsters Ink isn’t just a tattoo shop—it’s a place where art, passion, and community come together.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is family, community, and making a positive impact. Everything we do—whether it’s running Monsters Ink, launching our nonprofit Cleaning Up Conroe, or raising our kids—is rooted in these values.
Family comes first because they are my foundation. My husband and I have built everything together, and we want to set an example for our kids about hard work, resilience, and giving back. Balancing business and family isn’t always easy, but at the end of the day, they are my biggest motivation.
Community is just as important. We didn’t start Monsters Ink just to run a business—we wanted to create a space where people feel welcome, inspired, and valued. That same mindset carries over into our nonprofit work. Whether it’s helping someone express themselves through a tattoo or cleaning up our city, we want to leave a lasting impact.
At the heart of it all, making a difference matters most. Whether it’s through art, leadership, or service, I want to know that we’re leaving the world better than we found it. That’s what keeps me going every day.
