Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin Selle
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Adopted at four months old by a missionary family in the Philippines, travel has been in my blood ever since with everything on both a personal and professional front. Traveling between the US and Asia frequently at a young age really opened my eyes to the diversity of our amazing planet while fueling my passions to experience as much I could. My fascination for people of all walks of life, different cultures, foreign lands and culinary delights are just some of the many things that I honestly can say has shaped me into who I am today.
Currently I live in Los Angeles having built a 20+ year career within the entertainment field with some amazing jobs that include talent management, casting on shows, touring the world with music artists and a broad range of general production. But timing is everything and the pandemic definitely made me start thinking outside the box as I have always wanted to combine my experiences in going places to inspire others to do the same. And so just over two years ago I launched my own full-service travel agency, SELLEbrity TRAVELS.
However corny the quote “The World Is Your Oyster” might be, I am confident that my enthusiasm for all things travel will be an essential asset for anyone ready to expand their horizons, crack open the comforts of their shell and take a step forward towards the countless experiences out there. Whether it’s exploring a new part of Houston, a different part of Texas or traveling thousands of miles to another continent, the joy of being able to travel is something that really defines who we are!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a travel agency just out of the pandemic definitely had its hurdles. But given the then demand and the ongoing interest by so many, navigating an industry that has so many parts to it is has definitely been a challenge that I wholeheartedly took on because I really love everything about it!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The best part of being involved with travel is that you can specialize in just about any interest, area or aspect of travel. Some folks love selling all-inclusive vacations to the Caribbean while others focus on cruises. My niche really encompasses all aspects of foreign travel to different countries across the globe. And tho I have personally been to many, having the opportunity to remotely learn about a destination that I may know little about has only fueled my desire to continue learning.
And with that, I do get to be creative in how I promote both the business and brand in everything from postings on social media to just word of mouth. I love to visually engage potential clients by showcasing a variety of travel experiences while thinking outside the box of ways to grab one’s attention. Also, not one to just ‘settle’ on a specific destination or type of travel, artistically planting the ideas of going places that many might not have enough thought of is why I know I’ll never find this boring.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?

Pricing:
- Destination – No matter where, having a general idea of that destination’s cost expectations is paramount in making any trip a success.
- Who – Whether traveling solo, with a significant other or family/group has to be realistically approached when considering where you go next.
- Timing – Being smart and having some flexibility of when you travel is key in getting the most bang for your buck.
