Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Roy.
Brandi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Quarantine really forced me to take a good look in the mirror. I had to reevaluate my life, and I did just that. It pushed me towards the purpose God has for my life. It started with Just B Girls’ Trip. I lost a meaningful friendship during quarantine, so when it was time to travel again, I put out a simple post on Facebook. Seventeen women nationwide responded. This girls trip was about building bonds, connecting with other women, and building a support system. It worked! This year we are traveling to Costa Rica. Then came the idea for Woman II Woman, a podcast I host with my cohost, Dr. Nikki Jones. One thing I heard on the girls’ trip is the need to be heard, learn about business, networking ideas, and a safe place to just be themselves would be nice. That’s when I knew I wanted to provide that space. My goal is to inspire and encourage people. I want them to keep going for their dreams because dreams do come true. Trust God. His plan for your life never fails. It’s scary yet fulfilling all at once. I don’t know where God is taking me next, but I’m here for the ride.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I struggle with depression and anxiety, but what I learned during quarantine was that it does not have to control my life nor my decisions. I’ve made plenty of choices that were not in my best interest because of it. Now, I have the tools and resources to help me stay in control. Currently, I am working on my Life Coach Certification through HCC so that I can help others stay on track so they can conquer their dreams.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Right now, I use social media to encourage others. I put out short videos that hopefully inspire others to keep going. I also use my Woman II Woman podcast to do the same. The thing I’m most proud of is when people take the advice given and implement it in their daily lives. When I receive messages that say one of my posts, videos, or a podcast episode has helped them…heart smile on a thousand. I think my authenticity sets me apart. I genuinely want to see everyone win in life. My work is to help others become the best version of themselves and I will continue to do that until I can’t do it anymore.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I see conferences, speaking engagements, and more people changing their lives for the better. We’re just getting started.
