Rising Stars: Meet Candice Lundy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Lundy.

Hi Candice, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my anti-Bullying nonprofit because I want others to know that they are not alone and that they are not the only one going/been through it. I was bullied as a child by a family member which because nothing was done it was seemed to be ok. I had no one to vent to, cry to, or get advice from. I grow up thinking it was ok. Because of everything I went through, I try my best to help other kids who has been bullied. I wrote a book about it as well

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road for me. I think in my mid 30’s I had a breakdown because I had been holding in so much and I never really let everything out. And family hates when the black sheep lets the family secrets out.

No, it wasn’t a smooth road starting my nonprofit neither, because people don’t like to admit when they are bullied and someone they don’t know coming in to try to help them

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m proud that I wrote a book which helped me let go of a lot of hurt that I had been holding on to for years. After writing I felt a lift come off of me. I started a nonprofit to help others. I’m proud that I wrote a book, I started a nonprofit to help others kids so that they will understand that their life matters to. What sets me apart- is that I go hard for all kids, not just mines. I have walked the shoes of a bullied kids, being the black sheep of the family, not feeling wanted, and looking for love in other places and people.

I feel like I specialize in helping kids, trying to help and teach them different ways to relieve stress when being bullied.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yes, that people don’t know how to handle stress well,
