Today we’d like to introduce you to Colleen Watson.
Hi Colleen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As an Education major in college, I had an opportunity to study at the University of Madrid and also taught College English.
This was the beginning of a love for adult learning and education. My career began at a major international airline as a facilitator and curriculum developer. I started my own consulting business focusing on leadership development and human capacity initiatives. I also had the opportunity to be a partner at an HSE sustainability firm in Houston where I developed a new service line for clients in the adult learning space.
My passion in business is to help others become the best versions of themselves and communicate in a positive and impactful manner. This defines my focus and motivates me to share my experiences with clients around the globe.
My greatest joy has been being able to share my expertise with different cultures around the world.
Leaving a legacy is also very important to me. Not just with my professional colleagues and past participants, with my family as well. My daughter, Maggie Montgomery is also in the adult learning space and will one day assume ownership of my company. She is the BEST!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of my largest obstacles overall has been my philosophy to prioritize people over profitability in my business. I believe in putting my clients first, knowing the money will follow. Staying focused on these principles has allowed to stay true to myself and realize success in my career.
The biggest challenge has been the COVID 19 pandemic which necessitated the reinvention of my course offerings to a virtual, online platform. Realizing I was able to navigate this environment makes me proud!

By using the AL Method of design and delivery, the focus is on the participant (not the instructor). This allows for experiential learning and collaboration in the classroom. Every session is customized to meet the participant’s needs and promotes a shift in behavior.
