Daevion , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Music has always been a part of me. Growing up, I was drawn to R&B—the way it tells stories, evokes emotions, and creates timeless moments. I started making music not just as an outlet, but as a way to connect with people on a deeper level. My sound blends classic R&B vibes with modern influences, creating something smooth, melodic, and real.
Right now, I’m focused on making timeless music that resonates. From my upcoming releases to my live performances, I want people to feel something real when they hear my songs. This journey is just getting started, and I’m excited for what’s next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has shaped me into the artist and person I am today. One of the biggest obstacles I’ve faced is balancing my passion for music with my other commitments. Making sure I’m constantly evolving as an artist, it can be overwhelming. But I’ve learned that discipline and purpose keep me grounded.
Another challenge has been dealing with negativity, especially in personal relationships. I’ve had people try to tear me down, question my character, and create unnecessary drama. At one point, it affected my mental space, but I had to make the tough decision to remove myself from toxic situations. That choice wasn’t easy, but it was necessary for my growth and peace.
On the music side, breaking through as an independent R&B artist in today’s industry is tough. There’s a lot of noise, and getting people to really listen takes consistency. But I refuse to be discouraged. Every song I drop, every performance I give, I’m building something timeless. The obstacles are there, but they’re just stepping stones to the next level.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is a reflection of my experiences, emotions, and the world around me. As an R&B artist, I focus on creating music that tells stories—whether it’s about love, growth, or the struggles that come with life. I’ve dropped songs like Missing You, For Her, and 24 Hours, each carrying its own vibe and emotion, and I’m always working on the next piece that will connect with people. My upcoming projects v Timeless, is all about making music that lasts beyond the moment, something people can come back to years from now and still feel.
Whether it’s through my music or the spaces I help create, my work is about connection. I want people to feel seen, heard, and inspired to push forward, no matter what they’re going through.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
At the end of the day, what matters most to me is impact. Whether it’s through my music, my community work, or just the way I carry myself, I want to leave something meaningful behind. I don’t make music just to chase trends—I want my songs to resonate, to be timeless, to make people feel something real.
What also matters is staying true to who I am. The industry, life, and people will always try to pull you in different directions, but I refuse to compromise my integrity. My journey is mine to walk, and as long as I’m creating, inspiring, and moving forward, I know I’m on the right path.
