Hi Dalia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I suffered my first Heart Attack at the age of 32 (2012) after consuming too many Red Bulls. I was drinking 2 a day. Fast forward to 2016 I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. My skin got an Allergic reaction to the Contrast Dye/Iodine. Most patients get a mild reaction but in my case it was severe. Think of it as a foot chemical peel. (See IG profile for pictures and updates) It was almost as if I had 3rd degree burns all over my body. The steroid creams were not helping and I refused to keep taking Antihistamines. I was in so much pain. I had to help my skin heal with Organic based products and avoid over-the-counter alcohol-based products. That started becoming too expensive.
Like many when COVID hit I educated myself. Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E., Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter (just to name a few) As soon as I started seeing results I knew. I knew I had to make my move and open up my Business but soon after that due to my Chronic Diagnosis I had to stop working. I was very limited on my budget and I still am but I’ve grown. I’ve upgraded my containers, I now have waterproof labels and slowly but surely I’m getting where I want to be.
When my sister came to me that my niece was allergic to just about everything I made her an Oatmeal bath soak. As soon as she showed me her results I knew that it could and would be a favorite product.
Fast forward to 2022, I am now on the Heart Transplant list. I live life to my fullest potential and I’m grateful for each and every connection I have with you. From the top of my Heart, Thank You!!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We all come across obstacles/challenges but that’s what makes us be Creative Artisan Creators.
I lost all of my lashes due to a radiation test. I cried but I knew that this was just another obstacle I knew I needed to fix. I blogged my results for myself. Every single day I was consistent. I looked in the mirror and after the 6th day, I started seeing my lashes grow back. Don’t get me wrong, I love using my lash strips so this also helped me create something to get that next day glue scum off. Don’t laugh now, I know I’m not the only one.
So when Customers like yourself come to me with a Skin issue, thank you!! Thank you for Trusting Dahlias Organic Essentials to invest in your skin. I’m grateful to be helping people with their skin because I’ve been there. I’m living it. Dry skin, sensitive skin, oily skin but most importantly No Skin (literally). I’m not a chemist and I really wish I paid attention to Chemistry but know that every product I make is made with Love.
“Life’s Not Perfect, but your Skin Can Be” and neither is this Texas weather. Shipping Organic Products has always been my obstacle. Everything Melts!! No matter how well you package it. I used to make cute shaped body soaps but now they’re either oval, square or just an artisan organic soap weird-shaped soap.
My main obstacle is the Wintertime. I set up a portable sink at my Pop Up Markets so customers can feel instant results of the exfoliation. Being outdoors in the cold really affects my sales but I’m offering more products that don’t need to be used with the sink.
My local support from the Houston Community has grown so much and I no longer depend on my sink to sell my products.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I started my Business with only Organic Body Scrubs and Lip Scrubs. Now I offer Body Scrubs, Foot Scrubs, Face Scrubs, Beard Oils, Yoni Oils, Body Butters, Foaming Facial Cleansers, Rose Water Toners and now the famous Booty Scrub. Ask and you shall receive.
What are your plans for the future?
My future plan is to Wholesale and Branding my Products. Also, offering CBD Body Scrubs and Essentials. I’ve been asked by so many Businesses and Individuals and I feel like I’m ready. I always have that lil voice in the back of my head telling me otherwise. Soon. Very soon.
