Hi Danae, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got started in the real estate industry in 2013 as a real estate agent at Coldwell Banker in The Woodlands. After 4 years, I knew that I was gravitating to the contract management process so I shifted gears and began working in Escrow at title companies in the area. In 2019, my world turned upside down as I learned my Husband’s career was moving us to Southern Illinois. I enjoyed working in the Texas real estate market and wanted to continue using the state-specific knowledge I had gained.
OnPoint Transactions was born, a virtual and full-service Transaction Coordination company servicing real estate agents from all Brokerages throughout the state of Texas. Since the start in 2019, the team has grown to include 6 more Transaction Coordinators to support the needs of our agents. They have all previously been real estate professionals and the vast collection of industry-specific knowledge they bring to the table amazes me every day. In a full circle moment, Coldwell Banker asked if we would like to be part of a new program called “CB2Go” making OnPoint Transactions a preferred “TC” company for their 35 Texas offices.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I like to call these struggles learning opportunities! As the company grew, I had to learn how to adapt from a solopreneur and ask for help. My client list increased as more transactions closed. Real estate agents on the opposite side of a transaction would inquire about my services and referrals are a large source of business. As a first-time business owner, the onboarding process of hiring my first team member was a learning experience to say the least but it helped me to hone in on my brand and how I wanted to be represented.
I also learned it is best to stick to what you are good at! It is tempting to venture out and offer services that aren’t part of your product offering but that leaves you less time to dedicate to your core competencies. This applies internally as well. My strengths are in the real estate industry so when I decided to have someone handle the internal business operations, I had more time to focus on our clients and help them level up in their own businesses.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
We give real estate agents their life back! Managing multiple contracts while prospecting for more buyers or sellers is difficult and can take up much of an agent’s personal time. That is where OnPoint’s Transaction Coordinators come in! We oversee the administrative tasks of residential contracts and listings to help lighten the load. Our expert team is the extra set of eyes monitoring all contingencies, deadlines and Broker compliance as well as assisting with the steps to get new listings on the market. OnPoint Transactions is the leverage many agents need so they have extra time to focus on the growth of their own business or in some cases take a much needed vacation.
Work is completed on a per transaction basis and our clients team up with the same coordinator every time. Partnering with OnPoint is much like having an assistant but with the benefit of not hiring a permanent staff member, you only use us when you need us.
