Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniella.
Hi Daniella, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The story of how it all began is one that means a lot to me. My name is Daniella Evelyn Bernal. About three years ago, I was a 20 year old girl who felt pressured to follow the medical path like everyone around me. I’d always been the creative one — the girl who loved art, beauty, and painting. I took a leap of faith by listening to my heart and enrolled in esthetician school, where I could finally dive into all things beauty. That’s where I was first introduced to lashing.
At first, it wasn’t easy. I struggled with technique and doubted whether it was the right path for me. Then, one random day, months after finishing school, my mom asked me to do her lashes. I pulled out all my old supplies, and even though it took me over six hours to complete the set, it was so worth it. When I saw how happy she was with the results, something clicked. In that moment, I knew this was what I was meant to do. Seeing people love my work and feel beautiful gave me a purpose. That’s when Beauté by Evelyn became official and my passion for lashing grew stronger.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road in the beginning. I struggled a lot with keeping clients and felt unmotivated many times. There were months where I only saw about four clients, and it was really discouraging. I knew I didn’t want to work under anyone, I wanted to build something of my own, so I sacrificed having a steady job to go all in as a full-time lash artist. That first year was the hardest. I missed out on a lot of things because I didn’t have the funds, but I kept showing up, promoting myself, and putting my trust in God, knowing that it would all pay off.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Houston-based lash artist who specializes in creating custom, natural-looking sets that enhance each client’s unique features. I love taking the time to design every set around my client’s eye shape and personal style. What I’m most proud of are the genuine relationships I’ve built along the way. Many of my clients started as strangers and have become such supportive, loyal people in my journey. My clients often tell me what sets me apart is my attention to detail and how much care I put into every appointment. I NEVER rush the process. I focus on precision, comfort, and making sure each person leaves feeling confident and beautiful!
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love how much the community supports small businesses/vendors, it really makes the city feel close-knit and encouraging. I’ve met so many amazing vendors and entrepreneurs in Houston. Truth is, we all want to “Be Someone”
Something I least like about the city is the heat and humidity, I wish we could experience all four seasons and maybe then I wouldn’t have to switch my glue every time the weather changes. Good quality lash supplies cost money and I always make sure to have the best supplies in the market! Never less.
