Today we’d like to introduce you to Derrick And Ana Coats.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
God Ties Movement started through a vision God instilled in Derrick and I, through coming together and giving back to our community in Alief Tx, where we’re from. From backpack giveaways, to speaking to the ladies in prison, it’s become a movement that has broaden locally.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We put our faith in Jesus Christ, who our movement is centered around. Through our determination and commitment, any obstacles were faced head on and nothing short of a learning curve. For example, in 2023, we donated a little over 50 backpacks, to 2025, over 200 backpacks. We never get discouraged, we only get better and better. Our focus is our community, which pushes us.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I, Ana, am a retail store manager close to 10 years. I believe in developing my team to be better, just like I’d do for anyone I care about. Derrick has ventured in landscape lighting, while pursuing his own business, DC Landscape Lighting.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Kindness and a selfless heart has been our most important gift, to do what we do for others.
