Today we’d like to introduce you to Deus Lee.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started writing as a kid in 3rd Ward after watching a Master P and Lil Romeo video with my dad and he said, “son we can do that too!”
I have a deep love for music so no matter what’s going on in life I always find time to write. It’s how I release and express myself.
I made a name for myself amongst the football team for freestyling after games and at lunch and started recording my senior year in Highschool.
I released my first mixtape my Sophomore year in college which garnered a lot of support from my peers and teammates and I kept going from there.
Now I’m Co-Founder of PPL PXRTY ENT where we throw community events and showcases for like minded individuals to give them a platform to express themselves. Like my dad told me, you can do it too.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m a firm believer in “nothing in life comes easy”, because if it were everyone would be doing it. Back when I started making music it was almost impossible to make headway, especially in Houston.
Now with social media, literally everyone is doing it, and that makes the market much more saturated.
There will always be difficulties, but consistence is key in this industry.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Professionally, I’m Kent Hadnot II, Co-Founder of PPL PXRTY ENT. Artistically, I’m Deus Lee, a musician.
I’m known for curating events, providing platforms to upcoming artists, and of course making music.
I’m proud of the fact that I’ve become the person I envisioned myself to be as a child, all the while staying true to myself in an industry that is known to change people.
I believe my ability to relate, connect, and collaborate with anyone from any face of life sets me apart from everyone else. I’m really a social chameleon, I don’t change I adapt to my surroundings.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I can’t credit any one app, book, podcast, or blog, but I can credit the people I surround myself with. I have a great support system of family, friends, artists, and like minded individuals that I can reach out to at any time.
