Doreatha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always loved different clothing, jewelry and accessories, so my daughter, Tyrah, started selling clothes and I took over Mocha’s Dream Closet with a dream and a desire to make Mocha’s Dream Closet the best online store possible. I added to the site many unique items that were Y2K style and items I felt others would love. She and I have always loved beautiful clothing and accessories with our own unique style.
Today we are excited about where Mocha’s Dream Closet is headed. We have added so much to our business. It is not an easy journey but it is worth it. We are excited about where we are headed and helping ladies look good at a great price.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Mocha’s Dream Closet has not always been easy to do. It takes a creative eye and it takes researching and keeping up with the trends. The items are costly at times but we make it happen and our customers are always pleased and excited. In addition, it takes time to nurture the brand so it can be all that we have created it to be.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an Educator and I love inspiring, uplifting, motivation and empowering children to win. I’m most proud of my relationship with Christ, our daughter, Tyrah, my marriage to my incredible husband, Terrance and all of my accomplishments throughout my life.
Life is a journey we all must embark on and I have enjoyed everything. I love my passion for business. I have always had a business mindset and I love using my creativity on a daily basis. I have written 7 books, 3 with my daughter and the latest is Scoring From The Three-Point Line. Our first book is The Day I Met An Angel, referring to our daughter. What sets me apart from others is my love for Christ and my winning attitude with an unbelievable work ethic to make things happen. My dedication and compassion to help others along the way by becoming all that I am created to be drives me to aim high and soar in life, while smiling along the way.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I would like to share that life is funny sometimes but in it, you can do and become all that you are created to be. All it takes is dedication, compassion, empathy, drive, willpower and the fortitude to make things happen. We were born to win, so let’s win.
