Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. LaKisha Green.
Hi Dr. LaKisha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Dr. LaKisha Green – Bio
Dr. LaKisha Green is a former maternal-child health nurse turned self-taught culinarian, educator, and visionary entrepreneur. She is the founder and creative force behind EPIPHANIES DESSERT STUDIO, a Houston-based custom dessert company specializing in buttercream artistry, specialty cakes, and innovative edible creations. Now shipping nationwide and offering travel baking services, Epiphanies has gained viral acclaim for its signature deconstructed cake in a can—a travel-friendly, mess-free treat designed for those on the go. Her work has been featured on various media platforms, and her banana pudding has received local awards and recognition. Select local restaurants now proudly offer her cakes in a can.
With a passion for teaching and mentorship, Dr. Green has guided aspiring culinarians through internships, curriculum development, and global workshops. She continues to empower the next generation through EUDAEMONIA, a nonprofit organization she founded that is dedicated to empowering young entrepreneurs through holistic wellness, personal development, and practical business education. EUDAEMONIA also supports local communities through hydroponic and container farming initiatives, advancing food justice and sustainability.
Dr. Green serves as a board member for The Metallic Sunflower Foundation and teaches both virtually and internationally. Holding a terminal degree in Education with a specialization in Leadership and Organizational Development, she brings a unique blend of healthcare, education, and creative entrepreneurship to her work. Her mission centers on inspiring global impact, fostering youth entrepreneurship, and building equitable food systems—all while creating sweet moments of joy, one bite at a time.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. My entrepreneurial journey has been anything but smooth—but it’s been real, and it’s been rich with lessons. Along the way, I experienced life in all its complexity. I raised three sons as a single mother, supported them through college, navigated the highs and lows of marriage and divorce, and even faced periods of homelessness. There were moments I had to choose between keeping the lights on or investing in my dream. But through it all, I leaned on faith, resilience, and purpose. Every obstacle became part of my story—and my fuel. Those challenges didn’t break me; they shaped me into the leader and creator I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories include late nights of baking mini cakes with my easy bake oven and selling them the next day at school for .25.
My grandmothers and my mom sparked my interest in baking and cooking. I have tons of fond memories watching and learning from them.
