Rising Stars: Meet Elia Bacchiocchi of Beaumont

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elia Bacchiocchi.

Elia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As someone that has been in the industry for 10 years and takes pride in everything I do, I was tired of pouring everything into a business that wasn’t pouring back into me. As a result of that, with my husbands encouragement, I focused all my energy on opening my own barbershop. We worked night and day to build something we could grow into and turn into a family business. We have been open for 1.5 years now and are consistently growing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not. I don’t think any new business owner could say their road was smooth. Our biggest struggle is standing out and building trust within a community that is over saturated with barbershops. Which is why we do community outreach and focus on working with kids and adults that have disabilities especially in regards to sensory issues.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been working primarily with men and boys for 10 years. I currently specialize in beard shaping and working with people on the spectrum. I am most proud of the clientele that I have curated for my shop. We really do have amazing clients! We try our hardest to make sure that every client that comes in feels at home and welcome regardless of race, sexuality or gender. If you leave my shop and don’t feel like you were comfortable or like family than we didn’t do our jobs.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is when my parents took me to the Catskill Mountains and I got to feed baby goats.
