Today we’d like to introduce you to Elle Townley.
Hi Elle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been singing ever since I could remember. My parents tell me that I sang from the moment I started talking, serenading anyone who would listen with songs I heard on radio, TV, and movies. I started performing publicly at eight years old, belting out Disney princess songs to backing tracks, learning that I loved interacting with audiences.
When I was nine, I took my first trip to Nashville and participated in a youth music boot camp. It was there I wrote my first song, and that I decided to learn guitar and to pursue music as a life passion.
Over the last few years, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have opportunities to travel across Texas, Tennessee, and several other states to perform and to collaborate and learn from a host of music industry veterans. I’ve particularly focused on songwriting, and I started recording and releasing original songs, beginning with “Trouble With Trouble” in 2020 at age 11. Since then, I’ve written dozens more songs, and I’ve recorded and released a total of five singles, including the most recent, “Taking Off My Halo” in June 2025.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I doubt anyone really has a perfectly smooth road in any career path, but the struggles are actually valuable opportunities to learn patience and perseverance. The music business is hard, and things like social media change all the time. There is no proven formula to “make it” and guarantee success, but I’ve been fortunate to have had a lot of great mentors who have helped me refine my skills and reinforced the importance of a strong work ethic.
For me, one of the big primary struggles has been the feeling that I’m behind and failing to make adequate progress. I’ve always been dedicated to growing my following organically through hard work and talent, and it can be discouraging when it doesn’t yield the same results for me as it does for others. This is particularly those who can afford to make big financial investments. It’s those times that I have to remember to trust the plan and just work harder.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a country singer/songwriter from Georgetown, Texas. I’m known for my strong vocals and stage presence.
I have earned recognition across both media and industry circles, with TV and media appearances on The Heartland Network, WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour, Teen Kids News, Postcards Magazine, Austin Woman magazine, CBS Austin, FOX 7 Austin, AIM Country Music, and more.
In competition, I was a Top 5 finalist in the 2020 Houston Rodeo Rockstar competition, winner of the 2021 Old Settler’s Music Festival Youth Competition, and a three-time Texas Country Music Association Young Artist of the Year nominee in 2022, 2024, and 2025.
I’ve been privileged to perform live at major events and festivals including the Old Settler’s Music Festival, Red Poppy Festival, Liberty Hill Independence Festival, and the FIA World Endurance Championship at Circuit of the Americas. I’ve also been honored to perform our great national anthem for audiences including the Round Rock Express, Austin Spurs, and Austin Gamblers PBR team.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
As I’ve developed my songwriting skills, I’ve been fortunate to work with a number of accomplished cowriters, including Britton Cameron, Drew Womack, Kevin Fisher, Dickie Kaiser, Justin Heflin, Delaney Ann and Steven McClintock.
I also owe a debt of gratitude to my long-time vocal coach, Laurie Winkel, and my fantastic guitar instructor, Brian Curtis.
