Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Batte
Hi emma, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started modeling in 2022 and it’s been uphill since then! i’ve wanted to be a model my entire life since I was a little girl watching Americas Next Top Model with my mom every week.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all. Creatives in Houston want to pay for everything, except pay the models who are bringing their vision to life. Being a model means you are the missing piece to bring the artwork of the clothing alive. Models breathe life into clothing, and yet we are the ones who are expected to be okay with not getting paid. I completely stopped doing projects (unless it truly benefits my portfolio) unless I am getting the compensation I deserve. I implore all models to do the same, we deserve better.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am known for being a runway and editorial model. I bring fire and energy to every project i’m on and not afraid to ask the important questions. i’m most proud of myself for not letting anyone in the industry walk all over me or treat me in a way I don’t deserve. And that’s what I believe sets me apart from others. I won’t be disrespected by the people in our own city who want to take advantage of us
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I encourage anyone who has a dream to chase it. Do not let a single thing get in the way of your passion. You never know when your last day will be, so make every moment worth it.
