Rising Stars: Meet Eric Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Davis.

Eric Davis

Hi Eric, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Almost 5 years ago, I randomly made an Instagram page. I was already posting food on my personal ad pages & I seen how I was getting a bunch of likes so some people told me to just make a page & I did. Ever since then, I been doing food blogging, going around Houston trying & posting about food worth trying.

I’m originally from New Orleans & because New Orleans a food city & my grandmother being a chef, I just gravitated towards food. Now I’m not no cook, but I can definitely spot some good food when I see it.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For the most part, it’s been a smooth road. Now, I was going thru personal stuff with my kidney. For 10+ years, I was on dialysis while doing this food blogging. I had many ups & down with going to hospitals & just being sick in general. As of 2023, I did receive a kidney transplant, which help me get a second life. I waited a long time, but it was all worth it. Now I can do my dream of traveling around the country & hopefully, the world trying food

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do food blogging for work. I go around Houston trying amazing restaurants & food trucks & helping problem find good food to try. Everybody recognize me as the food guy around Houston or one of them.

I’m most proud of the consistency I was able to keep up with. I never thought I was gonna. Be able to keep doing this for as long as I been doing.

Idk what sets me apart from others. Feel like everybody. This space, doing the same but kinda in they own way. Maybe I could say the variety that’s on my page

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the diversity that around the city. Houston is just a melting pot of different cultures.

I hate the traffic the most, I think lost people would agree with that
