Rising Stars: Meet Gabriela Gutierrez of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Gutierrez

Hi Gabriela, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Honduras, I came to the US when I was 4. As a daughter of two immigrant parents I have always wanted more to life and to return the favor to my mom for raising me to be the woman I am now. Working with people and helping has always been one of my passions.
During High school I met my high school sweetheart and we have now been together for almost 13 years. We had our first son When I was 20, and it was the best part of my life with that being said I knew I had to be someone for him and myself. So me and my husband decided to start Suntex Power which is a Solar and Energy efficiency Company in 2020. The first year was hard as Covid had just hit and the world shutdown, we didn’t see much and we struggled as there was hardly any income, but it was our dream to have this company so we kept it going, I managed to get us clients and set meetings virtually and one day we woke up and realized our business was booming and were able to hire more people. I love anything that helps the planet we live on, even if it’s a small change. This company is everything to me, it’s worth seeing the smile of the families once the process is done and seeing them financially succeed and at the same time we help the environment. We are now in 2024 and our business is still going & I am So proud of seeing the hard work and late night sleeps payoff for me and my family.
Social media became a thing and now I get to own a business and enjoy being a content creator as well, I get to spend time with my kids and enjoy life as we want too.
Hard work pays off and I am grateful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Suntex Power was officially running in January of 2020 a month right before Covid was took over and everything was shutdown.
As a business that heavily focus on meeting with clients it was very hard. No one wanted to open talk in person and if it was through zoom most people didn’t think it was something real or didn’t want to move forward through with the process, so we were stuck for a while.
Which led the company to be at a standstill and we had no income coming in. Our personal life was affected financially and money was tight.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Being a business owner has had its up and downs as any business when starting. But I will say you learn from the mistakes & you reapply what you didn’t do the first time. I am proud of the growth I have made and the amount of knowledge I have accumulated to every aspect. I am proud of myself for giving and living the life I want. I get to freely raise my kids and be home and watch them grow and not worry about missing any of their first. It has also been great to have my husband as my partner in life and business we both have grown up to love the hustle life and learn new things everyday. As a young mom the early stages were hard as I tried to work 9-5 and go to school all while not missing anything, I would work at schools so I could take my son with him just to make sure he was okay and I didn’t miss anything. But that wasn’t the way I wanted to live especially knowing I wanted to grow my family. Till this day I am proud of all I have accomplished, the road to success has not been easy and there are still days that are hard but giving up is not a choice.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My kids and my husband are most definitely the reason to my success, they are my everyday motivation to keep it going and never look back. I think my attitude and my eagerness to learn have helped me along the way, the joy of doing what i do is a big part as well. I don’t feel like it’s a job & one’s passion for something is truly a boost of energy.
