Rising Stars: Meet Gaëlle Till of Kingwood, TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gaëlle Till.

Hi Gaëlle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always loved photography but never thought about it as a career before because I didn’t believe I still could change path after 4 kids and starting over later in life but I did and I absolutely love what I do.
I trained horses most of my life before starting this new adventure but I needed something that can allow me to have time for my children and a flexible schedule, so it just came naturally.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing is smooth starting over later in life. I had to do my own research, acquire the knowledge and tools needed, step by step until I was ready to create my LLC. Creating my own business was a huge achievement after about a year of learning every way I could and going through every step needed to get there.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in family outdoor photography, high school seniors and also horse lovers since I know and love horses so well. I love capturing families in their most precious moments. Memories that they can actually look at later in life and remember. I am a very nostalgic person, I think we all should have those moments preserved for a lifetime, and a way to remember our loved ones.
I was born and raised in France and I try to bring that extra touch to my clients. This is a way for me to share my culture also. I created a client closet with beautiful dresses for my clients to wear, and also, traditional French hats and accessories I hand-pick myself every time I go to France. I just love hats and I think it can give a real nice vibe to a photo.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Perseverance. Because this market is so saturated, it is extremely hard to exist in this business and you can’t never allow yourself to get discouraged and give up. It is a lot of work and patience needed to make it in this craft but I am committed and I will keep getting creative in order to achieve my goals and satisfy my clients.
