Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Le
Hi Hannah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Gorls Club HTX (@thegorlsclubllc) is a Houston based social club for twenty-something-ish girls to go out and make new friends by trying new hobbies and activities together. It’s based around the idea that you’re most likely to meet your people doing the things you both love to do. The concept is all about the idea that we are all different people who like different things – & that’s okay! I started the club in March of 2024 and we have grown to 2.8K members since then. What makes us different from other Houston Girls communities is that we really prioritize smaller, more intimate settings. We also encourage the girls to branch out on their creativity – anyone can have the opportunity to host an event, with help from our team! Over time, we’ve adopted a second mission – to support small businesses in Houston – by bringing sponsored events to the gorls and offering a jumpstart to those interested in content creation. I was running the club alone up until September, when I brought in a couple of girls to assist me, and now we’re a team of 8!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With less than a year under our belts, we’re still learning as we go. At first, the club was solely run through Instagram – I was doing everything by myself manually. I had a sudden spike in followers around the end of May, when we went from 300ish to 1k in a few weeks! I continued to power through on my own for months, and it was a lot for sure, but I LOVED what I was doing. A few girls started to reach out via DM and ask how they could be part of it – they really believed in the mission of the club and were itching to do more for the community. With the growth continuing to climb steadily, I knew there would be a point that I wouldn’t be able to run and fund it on my own anymore, which is why I introduced memberships & The Gorls Team. This opened up more opportunities for girls to gain experience in marketing, social media management, and event planning. Memberships have allowed them to decide for themselves if the extra benefits were worth it, or if they still wanted to be a member without paying, they could. For less than the price of 2 coffees, our VIPs get access to all these discount codes and content opportunities all over Houston each month. I never imagined it would be where it is today – self sustained and thriving!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My full time job is in tech, where I design the user experiences and interfaces for software solutions. My company is amazing, and they support my ‘side gig’ that is The Gorls Club, fully. I also have a lot of side gigs for design, where my passions and specialties really lie – I do some interior styling, social media consulting, commission art, and work for a boutique in River Oaks as well. People are constantly asking me how I do so much and still are able to run the club – You could say I love to stay busy! That cheesy quote about not working a day in your life when you love what you do stands true.
I think what makes us different from other Houston Girls communities is that we really prioritize smaller, more intimate settings. We tend to have a maximum of around 25-30 spots per event and require a sign-up list for a more exclusive, exciting environment – we believe keeping it tight knit fosters more genuine relationships for those who attend. We also encourage the girls to branch out on their creativity – anyone can have the opportunity to host an event, with help from our team!
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice is just ask! Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.
