Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Slaughter.
Hi Jada, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Houston from Mississippi in October 2020 in the midst of the pandemic with a three year old kid. No car, no place of living, just goals and a purpose. Being from Sharon, MS was just the start of it all. Coming from a small city that many people don’t make it out of, I’m always mindful of that. My hometown plays a big part in my drive and my ambition to be great. I spent majority of my childhood in the hair salon due to my mom being a salon owner. I always enjoyed being able to wear the latest hairstyle or trend because I never had to pay anyone for it. I also found joy in helping my mom out around the salon as well. I started styling my sister and other family member’s, friend’s hair. It became a focus during the pandemic for sure. My mom eventually lost passion for hair & I always told myself that someday I will pick up where she left off. Before my big move I did a lot of research about hair schools within the area, slept on my options for a few days, then found myself applying to the “Harvard” of hair schools; Paul Mitchell the School Houston. It was so exciting to embark on a new journey in a new environment. I graduated in May 2022 and will soon be launching my luxury extension brand. This is just the beginning. I can’t wait to see what God and the industry has in store for me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think that 2020-2021 was a tough year for a lot of us. One of my biggest obstacles so far was school itself. Moving 6 hours away from home with a kid, no family or friends was not a walk in the park. Life started to happen outside of school, there were so many times I wanted to give up and move back home but I beat the odds. I never gave up. My journey allowed me to learn so much about myself, strengthen my relationship with Christ, and surround myself with like-minded people. I am so grateful.

I am specializing in luxury extension services such as microlinks, itips, tape-ins, braidless sew-ins, etc. coloring services will be available as well.
How do you think about happiness?
A client booking you for a service & leaving with their desired look. Such a rewarding feeling & a constant reminder that I am walking in my purpose. I really enjoy making others feel beautiful!
