Hi Jasmine , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Fresh out of cosmetology school, I explored many different areas of the beauty industry, searching for where I truly belonged. While I gained experience in a variety of specialties, nothing quite gave me that “aha!” feeling—until I discovered men’s grooming. The moment I began cutting men’s hair, everything clicked. I had finally found my passion and the career path that felt right for me.
I spent years working in a barbershop, sharpening my craft, strengthening my customer service skills, building a loyal clientele, and creating lasting relationships with the people in my chair. Those experiences gave me the confidence and foundation to take a leap of faith and start my own business. This will be my eighth year working for myself, and I’m incredibly proud of that.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been an easy journey. Along the way, I’ve faced challenges, learned valuable lessons, and spent a lot of time growing both personally and professionally to ensure I run my business as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Starting at a young age pushed me to develop strong time management skills while continuing to perfect my craft. It also taught me the importance of understanding and adapting to different personalities, building patience, professionalism, and the ability to create positive experiences for every client who sits in my chair.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a barber who specializes in men’s cuts and vivid hair color, and I proudly welcome clients of all backgrounds and styles. A wonderful portion of my clientele is part of the LGBTQ+ community, and I truly value being able to create a space where everyone feels comfortable, seen, and accepted. One of the things I love most about what I do is the diversity of people, personalities, styles, and creative color ideas that walk through my door every day—it keeps my work exciting, inspiring, and constantly evolving.
More than just providing a service, I strive to create a safe and relaxing environment where clients can fully be themselves. For many people, their appointment becomes more than a haircut—it’s a moment to unwind, vent, share personal experiences, ask for advice, or simply have someone listen. I believe that personal connection is what truly sets me apart. Because I work independently, I’m able to offer a more intimate and personalized experience that allows each client to feel comfortable, valued, and cared for from the moment they sit in my chair.
Any big plans?
My plans for the future are still evolving. I’ve always been a big dreamer, and while it can be difficult to narrow my goals down to just one path, I’m excited about the possibilities ahead. For now, I’m focused on continuing to grow, perfect my craft, and build the business I’ve worked so hard for. I truly believe that when the right opportunity comes along, I’ll recognize it immediately—and I won’t hesitate to go after it.
