Rising Stars: Meet Joselyn Zacarias of Katy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joselyn Zacarias

Hi Joselyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When a teenager, I just love wearing Jewelry. And I loved it so much that I started making my own jewelry as a hobby. I did create a couple of bracelets in my teenager years. As a got older and got married I stopped but then when Covid came I was laid off from my job and I was at home with my childrens and I wanted to keep helping out my husband financially so I started making Jewelry again but this time I wanted this to be more, not just a hobby but something that made me happy and in the same time I wanted to give to the community. This is how I created Joslyn Mineth handmade Jewelry. I create unique, one of a kind pieces of Polymer Clay Earrings, which are my favorite thing to create. I create beaded/Pearl bracelets, necklaces, rings, and Unique charm bracelets that tell a story. Also Personalized Tshirts that expresses my faith. This few past years have been so full of ups and downs but its been worth it. Creating this brand has been such a blessing for me and my family and I cant wait to see what is coming next.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been easy. When I first started Joslyn Mineth, I struggle by finding the right vendors that would carry the good quality of product i need it to create my pieces. Getting the right temperature i need it, so my polymer clay earrings wouldn’t brake easily. Also there was times that i felt down, for not making the sales i wanted.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love creating Polymer Clay Earrings so much its my specialty. I feel so happy and excited after I am done creating a pair of earrings, that I just want to keep it. I feel that my creations are elegant and chic.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Not really. I just go with what I have infront of me and go with the flow.
