Rising Stars: Meet Just Acting Up Show

Today we’d like to introduce you to Just Acting Up Show.

Just Acting Up Show

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
It all started at a film meetup group mixer at the West End Bar. Chris and Mike were long-time friends who were interested in the film industry, and at the mixer, they met someone who was a local actor/scriptwriter. After the mixer, they remained in contact, and about 1 1/2 years passed. Chris then mentioned to both Mike and James about starting a podcast. We met Tashay on set, and the chemistry was natural; she was funny and a great actress, which eventually led to us inviting her to join the show, and she filled in that missing ingredient that we needed. This industry has so much talent; We wanted to create a platform highlighting actors, directors, writers, comedians, etc. Our show has been that bridge of knowledge and insight, giving the spotlight to fellow artists, whether mainstream or independent; if you’re part of the business or looking to get into business, the Just Acting Up Show is that hub for entertainment, industry advice, and more.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We wouldn’t say that it has been a struggle but more so a process. Since day one, we have grown and progressed with every show and guest that joins us. We have really found a way to place our own stamp on the industry. Have there been obstacles? Yes, but nothing that we haven’t been able to overcome as a collective and become an award-winning Podcast.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are known for our podcast. Our show is not like your regular podcast format. We wanted to approach the show like a radio show. So when you watch or listen to the show, it’s full of several different segments, not just one Topic. Yes, the core of our show is based in the TV/film industry and highlights that industry, but we also talk sports, current events, music, entertainment, and more.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
We are all also writers and content creators. We have several scripts that we individually and collectively are working on, and hopefully, the world will get to see them someday.
