Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylin Washington.
Hi Kaylin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Kaylin Washington also known as The Kosmetologist. I created this name for myself because growing up, I had a passion for anything beauty related. I started out practicing hair and makeup and used it as a side job throughout high school and college. While in college, I studied pre-dentistry, with further hopes of studying cosmetic dentistry. I joined the Pre-Dental Society at UTSA and through this organization I was able to get some hands on practice in the field. One day while shadowing a prosthodontist, I became intrigued by the art work that goes into creating prosthetics. When I realized how similar the process was to nail sculpting, I was eager to test my talent. I began practicing during the pandemic and I now have an upcoming small business where I create high quality press-on nails and service full sets.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
So far, it’s been a smooth journey but of course I’m just getting started. I know it won’t always be easy but I’m prepared to overcome whatever is thrown my way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an upcoming nail artist. I have an upcoming small business where I create high quality press-on nails and service acrylic sets as well. I specialize in hand-painted nail art, all designs are free hand, no stencils. I also currently published a nail art book that allows nail artist to map out their designs, available through Amazon. I am most proud of the progress I’ve made in such little time. I believe that my hard work and dedication is what sets me apart from others.
