Rising Stars: Meet Key Frager of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Key Frager.

Hi Key , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I didn’t have a perfect plan getting into this just knew I wanted to be around sports and find a way to create opportunities, not wait on them.

I started by reaching out to people, building relationships, and putting things together on my own. Whether it was hosting workshops, organizing events with athletes, or pitching brands, I was just figuring it out in real time and learning through experience.

As I got deeper into it, I realized a lot of athletes have the talent but don’t always have the strategy or storytelling behind them. That’s where I found my lane helping athletes build their brand and connecting them with companies in a way that actually makes sense.
Now I manage talent and build out partnerships and storytelling projects independently and through bridge league . At the core of everything I do, I see myself as a bridge bringing athletes, brands, and creatives together and creating something real out of it.
I’m still building, still learning, and still approaching it the same way I started just being authentic, staying consistent, and making things happen.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
When I first started, one of the biggest challenges was people telling me I didn’t have enough experience or not giving me an opportunity because I didn’t have a certain title or background. A lot of doors didn’t open at first, and I had to deal with people overlooking me or not taking me seriously.
But that never really stopped me — if anything, it pushed me to create my own opportunities. I focused on building relationships, putting ideas into action, and showing my value through what I could actually do, not just what was on paper.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a brand talent manager and the Founder of Bridge League who works at the intersection of athletes, brands, and storytelling. I specialize in helping athletes build their brand in a real way. from partnerships and campaigns to developing content and bigger story driven projects. Host hands on Sports Marketing experiences for people looking to transition into sports or get their foot in the door.

A lot of what I’m known for is being able to take an idea and actually bring it to life. Whether it’s a brand deal, a live experience, or a storytelling concept, I focus on making things tangible and impactful, not just ideas that sound good.

What I’m most proud of is my story and how I got here building everything from the ground up without waiting for permission and also seeing my ideas come to life. That’s always been the most rewarding part for me.

What really sets me apart is that everything I do is genuine. I don’t oversell myself, and I don’t approach relationships transactional. From day one, clients can feel that I have their best interest at heart, and that trust is what allows me to build real, lasting partnerships.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
For me, risk started on day one.
I moved from the DMV to Seattle to work with a client and really bet on myself. I didn’t have everything figured out, and I didn’t know for sure how it would play out, but I knew I couldn’t doubt myself. I just needed one person to trust me, and I was going to build from there.
That experience shaped how I look at risk. I don’t see it as something to avoid I see it as part of the process. Every opportunity I’ve created came from stepping into something uncertain and figuring it out as I went.
I’m not reckless, but I’m willing to bet on myself when I believe in something. I trust my ability to adapt, build relationships, and create value, even if the situation isn’t perfect.

At the end of the day, I’d rather take the risk and learn than play it safe and wonder what could’ve happened.
