Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Francis.
Hi Kristin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I decided to open the Monique and Company Marketing & Media Agency after leaving my long term career in Child and Family Mental Health. After having my own son who is Autistic, I knew that caring for him and being a safe space in his life took the first priority. I knew if I continued down that career path, I would not have the freedom or ability to care for my son and prioritize his needs in the way I would like. So after much prayer, I decided to go into business for myself doing what I do best. Being creative with intention and strategy. I have always enjoyed marketing, design, and of course building business. But found with my history in the mental health field, I was able to better assist others in overcoming the challenges we often face as business owners. After assisting others with their business, it only seem natural to make my own business out of business. I started managing social media pages, building and creating ads, then expanded as the needs and wants of my clients expanded. Now I provide marketing and media services, with everything from graphic design to photography to content creation. My work has been featured on billboards, non-profit events, and more. I also founded and created a group of other businesses called the ALLSTARS that stand together with unity, impact, and purpose as we help each other achieve our goals while pouring back into our community. This team has been an integral part of my success thus far.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No journey is without its bumps. Dealing with people who wanted to see me fail has been the biggest challenge. Ive had to overcoming bullying, and even cyber stalking from other businesses owners/professionals within my industry. Media is a very male dominated field, therefore when I began creating content videos and truly branching out into that scene, not everyone took it well. Overcoming targeted public ridicule and humiliation was difficult, however, I was able to come out of that experience stronger and more determined than ever to succeed.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a marketing manager, graphic designer, photographer, videographer, social media manager, and so much more. What sets me apart is my ability to take on so many roles effectively, making me a one stop shop for businesses looking for media and marketing services. I believe in building into people, and I have a wonderful gift of discernment allowing me to know what each of my clients need, even when they may not be the best at expressing those needs. I call myself the TX Titan, as I specialize in branding & product photography, and thats my favorite part of my job. I love making individuals who normally dont enjoy being in front of the lens come to life, and watch their confidence soar.
What matters most to you?
Connections. Impact. Purpose. We live in an individualistic society, however we absolutely need each other to thrive. I intentionally build bridges for people within their communities so that they have resources, support, and engagement they need to thrive on both personal and professional levels. I think when working together we can create the most change, and bring about the most good. Ultimately that is my goal, to make the world a bit more magical.
