Hi Lady, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began at three years old, singing in the church choir. Over the next 35 years, I continued to cultivate my passion for music, participating in choirs from elementary to college, spanning various states. In November 2021, I marked a significant milestone with the release of my debut single, “Higher.” Now, in 2024, I am proud to have three singles to my name, a testament to my dedication and love for music.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey wasn’t easy; I faced numerous struggles along the way. There were moments of self-doubt, feeling overlooked, and lacking support. I grappled with the fear of judgment and uncertainty about fully embracing who I am today. Despite these challenges, I persevered, overcoming obstacles to reach where I am now.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As an independent gospel artist based in Houston, Texas, I pour my energy into creating and composing original music. Over the past three years, I’ve released three singles, a testament to my unwavering commitment to my craft. One of the highlights of my career has been receiving nominations for prestigious awards and gracing esteemed platforms such as the Dr. Bobby Jones show and the Urban Soul Cafe Honors during Stellar Award weekend. My participation in stage play has enriched my artistic journey, adding depth to my repertoire. What sets me apart is my dedication to authenticity, ensuring that my performances are imbued with genuine emotion and resonate deeply with my audience.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
For me, my parents, Johnny and Patricia Jackson, were instrumental in my upbringing within the church, ensuring I remained grounded and humble.
