Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Obi.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Linda, and I was born and raised in Houston, TX. From a young age, I knew I was called to children, but I never knew in what capacity the Lord would use me. Fast forward, I became a teacher. I still don’t know how that happened because my degree was not in education, but God was ordering my steps to cultivate my gifting. I taught reading and writing for about six years before moving out of the education space, but the desire to help kids never left. That’s where God led me to create two organizations that would bring Him glory while impacting the next generation.
First is Sisters In Faith. Sisters In Faith is a virtual teen mentorship program for girls between the ages of 13 and 18. The mentorship is twofold. One side of it is biblical teachings that happen every Saturday, where the girls get a chance to dive deeper into the Word of God (you see how God brought that gift of teaching back around lol). The second part is one-on-one mentorship. Each girl is paired with her own spiritual mentor who walks alongside her in her faith journey. Whether through prayer, devotionals, or simply being an accountability partner, the girls have someone they can lean on throughout their walk with God. We officially started our first cohort on September 13, and we already have girls from four different states in the program. It’s been such a joy watching them grow, connect, and find community knowing they’re not walking this journey alone.
The second project God has birthed through me is Little Kingdom Builders. Little Kingdom Builders is a space where children can learn about God in fun and practical ways. Right now, we have scripture-based children’s books for sale, each one centered on a Bible verse that teaches kids how to apply God’s Word in their everyday lives. Every book includes reflection questions and a prayer at the end, making them perfect for children between the ages of 5 and 12. So far, over 500 copies have been sold, and we have two new releases coming by the end of November just in time for the holidays. Little Kingdom Builders is also working on new projects that, by God’s grace, will be revealed next year.
Right now, I’m in the process of opening my first group home in Houston under the Sisters In Faith umbrella. The home will serve girls ages 13 to 18 and provide a safe, faith-based environment where they can heal, grow, and discover their purpose. This next chapter is truly close to my heart. It’s about giving girls not just a place to stay, but a place to belong, a home filled with love, faith, and hope for their future.
In everything I do, my heart’s desire is to see young people encounter God in a real and personal way. Whether through a storybook, a Saturday Bible study, or a safe home, I want them to know they are seen, chosen, and deeply loved by Him. I’m just grateful that God continues to use me as a vessel to pour into the next generation.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. With Sisters In Faith, finding girls to join the program was a big challenge in the beginning. I knew the vision God gave me was clear, but reaching the right audience took time and patience. Once I hired a marketing strategist, everything started to shift. I truly believe that’s when God began moving on our behalf and highlighting Sisters In Faith to the right people. I’ll never forget when one mom told me, “I don’t even know how I found this program. It just popped up.” In that moment, I knew it was the Lord connecting the dots and bringing the girls He wanted to be part of the program.
With Little Kingdom Builders, the journey has honestly been much smoother. God has provided everything I needed from the very beginning. He brought the illustrator, publisher, and printing company right to me without me even having to search. Every step of the process has been confirmation that His hand is on this company, and I’m so grateful to see how He continues to move through it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would describe myself as a creative with a heart for the next generation. Through my work with Sisters In Faith and Little Kingdom Builders, I’ve found ways to blend creativity, faith, and education to help young people grow spiritually and personally. Whether it’s through mentorship, storytelling, or creating resources that make God’s Word come alive, my goal is always the same: to reach and teach children and teens in ways that truly connect with them.
In a world that can often feel heavy and uncertain, I’m grateful to use my gifts to be a light and a source of hope for young people. Seeing a girl grow in confidence through mentorship or watching a child light up while reading one of our books reminds me why I do what I do.
What sets me apart is that I am truly being led by the Holy Spirit in everything I do. Everything I create comes from a place of purpose and prayer. I don’t just want to produce content; I want to create experiences that draw kids closer to God and remind them of their identity in Him. Whether it’s designing a book, developing a new mentorship lesson, or planning a program for the group home, I pour my heart into it because I know the impact it can have. My work is simply a reflection of my calling to build God’s Kingdom.
