Rising Stars: Meet Lynn Peverill of Montgomery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Peverill.

Hi Lynn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Lynn Marie Peverill. I have always been an artist for as long as I can remember. I started with pen and ink renderings and small sculpture, then moved on to acrylic and oil painting and now full sized sized bronze monuments. Once in Texas I began as the volunteer costume mistress for the Crighton Players whose home theater was the historical Crighton Theater in Conroe, Texas. I did that for over twenty years. I was on the Players Board for four years and was awarded costumer of the year from the Players and Volunteer of the year from the Madely Fine Art Gallery’s Conroe Art League where I served on the bourd for ten years. I developed and ran the Chalk Up Conroe annual sidewalk chalk art event for 14 years bringing in artists of all ages to particpate in an all expence paid day of creating chalk art. I was awarded teacher of the year from the George Bush Libray and Museum from Barbara Bush
Over the last six years I have been painting graphics in school gyms, water tanks and libraries. Most recently I have been creating radio and film scripts for a starship adventure series called Invictus Chronicles “Call Of the Hiding Realm”. Both of which are published. I have also served as costumer for several television and film productions including Brave Books “Adventures with Iggy and Mr. Kirk, Tough Enough, and the Beast of Trinity Texas as well as my own film Invictus Chronicles which was the feature film at the Conroe Film Festival. I am currently working on a five figure full-sized historical monument for Cedar Break Park in Montgomery, Texas called The Pioneers of Montgomery aswellas the ongoing series episodes for Invictus Chronicles. I teach Jr. High through High School art for Covenant Christian School for the last nineteen years.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Most often it is time management. I have many irons in the fire at once!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a part time art teacher, In that copacity I need to be proficient in all art mediums. I love involving my students in all of my outside projects sometimes including them as actors in my films, building props and helping with local art bench commisions. This way they understand how art can transend many spectrums. Commonly referred to as a rennaissance person for my many different artisitc projects and sometimes as the McGyver of costuming, I take those terms to heart and try to teach my students that there are no projects too big to accomplish with a little hard work.

Any big plans?
To continue bringing new writers and artists to the film industry, to encourage creativity and to instill the courage to take on big dreams to my students and anyone who is thinking they can’t do something bigger than themselves.
